GO BACK-TO-SCHOOL WITH YOUR LIBRARY

What little card costs nothing at all, and is one of your best back-to-school tools? Your Library card! The Library has a wealth of tools and services that support educators and students during the school year.

back to school

School is right around the corner, and that means homework. Don't worry...the library is here!

  • Need a place to go? Libraries have computers and spaces for study. Many of our libraries have spaces just for teens. Some; like ImaginOn and the newly-renovated Beatties Ford Road, even have cafe-style study nooks.

Really stumped? Remember, you have access to professional tutors online, free with your library card.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library offers free academic and career resources and tutoring from Tutor.com for all students and adults.

K-12 and college students can get help with homework, studying, projects, essay writing and test prep in every subject, including algebra, statistics, chemistry, physics, social studies and English. Adults can get help with resume writing, GED prep, and academic support.  All sessions are online and one-to-one with a live tutor.

Get Homework HelpGetting help is easy. Just go to www.cmlibrary.org/online and click the Live Homework Help icon in the right-hand column. Or, to learn more about Tutor.com, check out this brochure, call or visit your nearest library!

FACT: Last year, 5,253 students used a Charlotte Mecklenburg Library card to get homework help with Tutor.com.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK

Can I request a library presence at a community event?

Yes! Simply use our easy, online form to send in your request at least four weeks prior to the date of your event. Keep in mind that submitting a request does not guarantee that a library employee will be available at your event, but we'll be in touch to let you know.

We hope that you find this e-mail useful. If so, please forward to a friend so they won't miss a thing.

We'll see you at the Library!
