Challenge Day Inspires Students and Faculty Alike
On August 27th and 28th, over 250 Pacific Ridge Upper School students, parents, faculty, coaches and staff members engaged in the school's first Challenge Day program. Designed to empower students to have confidence in themselves and to build a supportive and inclusive community, Challenge Day takes participants out of their comfort zone and into a realm of compassionate sharing, in which they explore what it feels like to connect with others on a deep, authentic level. Those who participated found the experience transformative, and are committed to bringing the benefits of the Challenge Day program to the entire Pacific Ridge community.
7th and 9th Grade Students Enjoy Orientation, Trip to Julian 7th and 9th graders visited campus early to get acquainted and learn about starting middle and upper school at Pacific Ridge. Students participated in games, went on a campus scavenger hunt, received information about school technology systems and shared a community lunch before heading off to Julian for overnight retreats.

Upper School Sports Are In Play
Upper School sports teams have been training for several weeks, preparing for the beginning of fall competition. The starting gun for the Co-Ed Cross Country season fires on September 1st at the Vaquero Stampede meet in Lakeside. Girls Volleyball launches its season on September 5th, with Varsity, Junior Varsity and Frosh home games against Liberty Charter. Girls tennis team members take their first serves on September 6th, at their match against Santa Fe Christian. Check A View From the Ridge weekly for scores and highlights. Go Firebirds!

Camp College For Senior Parents on September 12th
At this mandatory meeting, the College Counseling staff will acquaint senior parents with materials provided to students at Camp College, go over admissions requirements, review new SAT/ACT security procedures, discuss stress and the college application process, and give parents helpful hints on how they can best support their children throughout senior year.
