Athletes: Be Sure to Complete Forms by August 1
Pacific Ridge students who plan to play on athletic teams next year need to follow just a few simple steps by August 1st in order to be eligible.  Upper School parents and athletes are asked to fill out three forms: Health & Athletics Packet (which requires a doctor's physical), PRS Athletics Parent and Player Handbook 2012-13, and CIF Code of Ethics.  Middle School parents and athletes must complete only two: Health/Athletic Packet (including physical) and PRS Athletics Handbook.  Families should have received an email with forms attached on Friday, June 1st.  You can also find the forms on the Athletic Department web page, in the "Athletic Participation Forms" box on the right-hand side.

All Students: Health & Athletics Packet due August 1st
All students, even those who will not participate in athletics, must complete the Health & Athletics Packet by August 1st.  The packet is available on the Athletic Department web page, in the "Athletic Participation Forms" box on the right-hand side.  Questions?  Contact Nurse Bertken at rbertken@pacificridge.org.

Reminders:
Check Out the Travel Program Website

Curious about the day-to-day activities of students on their year-end trips?  You can find this year's travel program website on the school portal.  Simply log in to "My Pacific Ridge" then find the link in the "Announcements" section.  Trip blogs include the most up-to-date arrival times, so log on and see exactly when to expect your traveler home!

Last Chance to Trade in Used Textbooks

Drop by the Pacific Ridge Textbook Hub on Monday, June 11th, after school.  Volunteers will help you decide whether to include them in the Pacific Ridge Used Book Sale or return them to MBS.  You should also bring:
-Your MBS buyback quote
-Several personal mailing labels (optional but helpful)
-Multiple checks to buy books for next year

Upper School Students Home, Middle School Students Off
All Upper School students except the China travelers, who will return this weekend, have arrived home from their year-end trips.  In the meantime, 7th and 8th graders have set off for their trips to the Marin Headlands and Washington, D.C., respectively. Seventh-grade students arrived tired but happy after a 10-hour bus drive to Marin on Monday, and immediately got into their hiking gear for a quick afternoon hike.  They did longer hikes on their second day, some to the highest peaks in the immediate area.  Eighth-grade students landed in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, and hit the ground running.  The group has visited the Iwo Jima Memorial, Mt. Vernon, the Capital and the White House, among other activities.  They were also truly honored to meet Mr. Ken Salazar, U.S. Secretary of the Interior.
