Engineers Coach Students on Upcoming Bridge Projects Last Wednesday, Geometry students were paid a visit by two local engineers, who helped them think about their upcoming bridge projects. For this project, students will design and construct balsa wood bridges and take part in a contest to see which bridge can carry the most mass compared to the mass of the bridge itself. The engineers, Colby Cushing from Simon Wong Engineering and Lindy Pham from Parsons Brinckerhoff, gave students an overview of different bridge types and provided tips on how to go about the design process. Thank you Mr. Cushing and Ms. Pham for donating your time and expertise to help our students!

Boys Tennis On A Roll Coach Mattingley reports from the courts: "A big HIP, HIP, HOORAY for the Boys Varsity Tennis team! They have beaten two long-established teams - Bishop's and Francis Parker - and are currently tied for first place in the Coastal Division. This is an especially big accomplishment for a team made up mainly of Sophomores. Tuesday's match against La Jolla Country Day will be the final match of the season. If they win, they will capture the Coastal Champions title and head for the playoffs. Go Firebirds!"
