Students End Trimester With Gingerbread, Performances
Students said goodbye to each other, and 2011, with great eats with great performances at the annual Gingerbread Breakfast on December 16th. 11th and 12th graders earned the privilege of being first in line, thanks to their first-place fundraising efforts in the 2011 Penny Wars. The efforts of the whole school raised a total of $1,284.98, which student council members proudly presented to Jennifer Gilmore, Executive Director of Feeding America San Diego, at the breakfast. Thank you to all of our parent volunteers for their generous donations of time, absolutely delicious food, and holiday cheer. Thank you as well to Arts Coordinator Mr. Dziekonski for organizing a terrific series of performances from the Dance Club, Improv Club, Jazz Rock Ensemble, Orchestra, and Vocal Ensemble. Community Life Offers Theater At Trimester's FinishOn Wednesday, December 14th, theater students presented a "Mid-Morning of Selected Scenes," featuring work from Jean Anouilh's adaptation of Antigone, Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, and Leonard Gersche's Butterflies Are Free. Students in Theater Arts, Honors Theater Arts, and Advanced Theater Arts performed.
