Greetings!

Hello and happy summer!

This is the time of year the days are the longest so it is appropriate to tell you that the Affineco Companies-Premier Maintenance and United Services-have just received one of the first certifications in Day Cleaning ever offered by Diversey. Affineco is constantly working to implement innovative techniques and Day Cleaning is a new focus of our business because we know if provides customers with true energy savings and, in many cases, increased satisfaction.

Recently, Carlos Cancel, Frank Cepero and I were invited to be part of the inaugural certification program put on by Diversey, one of our largest cleaning product providers. We were one of only 15 companies invited to take part in the certification process, because of our ongoing commitment to Green Cleaning.

This is truly exciting because we will now be able to offer new, innovative solutions to save water, electricity and money for us and for our customers. In this edition of our newsletter you will read about one way to save water by recognizing its real monetary value.

We hope you enjoy this newsletter and the longer summer days.

Best wishes,
Michael

Connecticut to Mandate Paid Sick Leave

By Susan Minichiello

After years of debate, Connecticut will become the first state to mandate paid sick leave for service workers. The CT House passed the bill, which had already been passed by the Senate in late May. Governor Malloy, who campaigned on the issue during last year's election, said he'll sign off on the bill, and the law will go into effect January 1, 2012.
