Primary schools and some secondary schools in the Peruvian Andes and Amazon regions are going to use computers and multimedia to boost intercultural bilingual education. This programme is supported by international organisations IICD and Edukans.

The IICD-supported Ugandan organisation Health Child battles child mortality by sending mothers text messages with information about prenatal care, care after birth and reminders about their antenatal schedules at health facilities.

They both say their research greatly benefited from the use of computers and internet and even helped them to win awards. Two students from the IICD-supported Fatima Girls Secondary school in Zambia now recommend ICT for education for all Zambian schools. "E-learning should be a right for students."
