Provider Update

 Dear Parents,

We continue to search for the right person to replace Andy.  The many of you whose lives she has touched will understand the difficulty of our task.  We are delighted that Andy will continue to see patients once a month, and we have already scheduled those days through the end of 2010.

We are pleased that Dr Aronow will be increasing her time to see patients 3 days each week.  Dr Aronow will be in the office Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.  This October will mark the beginning of Dr Aronow's 5th year at Moore Pediatrics and we are excited about her expanded role.

With the pratice having grown to almost 1000 families and with our commitment to serve you with the best possible care and attention, we understand the importance of finding an additional provider quickly.  We will share the news just as soon as we find the right person.

Grant Announcement for Area Preschools

Moore Pediatrics and Associates invites area preschools to apply for grants (up to $200 per grant) to help implement activities that will increase children's exposure to fresh fruits and vegetables. Possible grants include funding to cover the cost of starting a vegetable garden, incorporating fresh fruits and vegetables into daily snack, sending a teacher to a workshop, etc.  Grants will be awarded at the end of August.  If you are interested in applying for a grant, please call the office for more details.

This program is part of our ongoing commitment to helping families develop the tools for lifelong health, including nutrition and fitness.  Previous recipients include Chelsea Children's Cooperative Preschool, Lambs of our Savior Christian Preschool, and the Chelsea Community Preschool.

Dr Moore is a "Mom-Approved Doc"

Thanks to the parents who nominated Dr Moore as a MetroParent "Mom-Approved Doc". Here is what one mom had to say on the magazine's website:

"We've been with Dr. Moore for about 10 years. He treats our three children, one has autism and other special needs. He really goes the extra mile every single time. He calls us when he's concerned about something that a test reveals, he takes action and refers us to specialists when we bring our concerns to him (instead of blowing us off like so many other doctors do), and he's generally just a very personable, compassionate human being. You can tell that he really genuinely cares. I wish that more doctors had a bedside manner like Dr. Moore."

 Upcoming Events

Car Sear Clinic

 Tuesday September 21 from 11 am-2 pm.

One of our most popular events is returning: certified technicians, including our own Leann Murphy, will check that your car seats and booster seats are correctly installed and teach you how to correctly install the seats yourself during a one on one session.

Appointments are available every 20 minutes beginning at 11:00 am.  We will schedule 20 minutes per car seat/booster seat in your car.  Statistics show that 70-90% of car seats are incorrectly installed, and the results of previous car seat safety clinics have matched those statistics.  We strongly encourage every parent to have their car seats/booster seats checked.

5th Annual Field Trip to Tantre Farm

Join us for an edible tour of the farm, visits with the cows and chickens, and farm fresh snacks, all led by farm proprietor and former elementary teacher Deb Lentz.
We had so much fun visiting the farm during the fall last year that we are going to do it again. Watch for dates and times for this popular event in a future email.

2nd Annual New Parents Lunch
This October we invite all parents with a child born since last the last New Parents Lunch to join us for a special event at the Treehouse in downtown Chelsea. Details to follow.

Bulldog Challenge

Moore Pediatrics continues our tradition of sponsoring the Annual Run for the Rolls, the 1 mile run/walk that precede the Chelsea Fair Parade.  New this year is the Bulldog Team Challenge Award for which we are proud to be the exclusive sponsor.  Congratulations to the Chelsea Soccer Club which won the Bulldog Team Challenge with both the fastest mile and the most number of participants.
