Leave a Message

We have listened to your feedback and learned that many of you would like to be able to leave a message when the phones are off.  If you listen through to the end of the instructions and follow the prompts, you are now able to leave a message, which will be retreived either after lunch or the following morning.

 Molly Update

Molly graduated from her first phase of therapy training and is now allowed into the waiting room.  If you or your children are uncomfortable sharing the waiting room, we are happy to bring her into the front office.  Please let someone know at the front desk.

The children are welcome (and encouraged) to play with Molly.  Please help your children play gently with her.  Please no fetch, no wrestling, and no encouraging her to jump. We don't want to scare the children with roughhousing in the waiting room.

Now that we are keeping Molly's hair shorter, children are more likely to notice that Molly has one eye.  She was born with only one eye, but functions like any other dog.

If your child would like Molly to come in the exam room during the visit, please let us know.  That's part of Molly's job, and she is happy to keep your child company.

Seasonal flu/H1N1 Update
  • Immunization clinics continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-6:30 pm through October 8. Please call the office at 734-475-4500 for an appointment. We will extend the dates of our immunization clinics as needed.
  • We still have a limited supply of VFC seasonal flu immunizations.
  • We still have a limited supply of flumist.
  • Once we receive information about the H1N1 vaccine, we will send out an email and update our website.
  • When you schedule an appointment for a flu vaccine, please note that we do not make reminder calls.  We have had a surprising number of no shows for the flu clinics.  These clinics are fully booked which means that someone else missed an opportunity to schedule an appointment.

Nutrition Grants for Area Preschools

We are pleased to announce that we have granted the first nutrition grant to the Chelsea Children's Cooperative Preschool in the amount of $200.  This grant will support a new Healthy Choices program that has three goals: to increase children's exposure to a variety of fresh produce, to allow students to gain experience trying new and unfamiliar foods, and to increase parental knowledge.

Moore Pediatrics and Associates is happy to partner with preschools that serve our patient population to promote nutrition "literacy."  It is our belief that educating our children to develop healthy habits is just as important to their long term development as reading and math.

Moore Pediatrics and Associates is pleased to announce another round of funding and invites preschools to apply for a nutrition grant by November 1.  Call the office for additional information on the grant application process.

Participant T-shirts are In

We are continuing to distribute our black and white "Participant" t-shirts to any child (and parent) who runs or walks a 5K. There are some 1 mile events that also qualify: the Run for the Rolls preceding the Chelsea Fair Parade and the upcoming Buddy Walk at Gallup Park on September 27.

Congratulations to the 32 children and parents who participated in the 2009 Run for the Rolls.  Stop by and pick up your t-shirt!

Rainbow Connection

Both of our board-certified pediatricians, Dr Aronow and Dr Moore, completed their pediatric residency training at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland.  This program continues to be ranked in the top 5 pediatric training programs in the nation by US News and World Report.  Rainbow is ranked second in the nation for neonatal care.  Dr Moore twice received the NICU award during his residency and remained a 4th year as chief resident.  Dr Aronow and nurse practitioner, Andrea Duncan have strong maize and blue connections having graduated with honors from University of Michigan.
