New Patient-Provider Agreement
Beginning July 1, you will be seeing a new document, which is called a patient-provider agreement. When you come in, one of the nurses will walk you through the agreement. The agreement spells out our responsibilities and commitment to service to you and your family, and it spells out our expectations of you and your family. We hope that this oportunity to talk about mutual expectations will help us continue to improve how we provide care to your child(ren). And, as always, please call us with any questions.

Bust a Move.. for the Cure
As you know, we frequently use the newsletter to talk about the importance of physical activity for you and your child(ren) and the importance of modeling the behavior you want your child(ren) to adopt for themselves. In this issue, we are highlighting some of the staff's efforts to keep our bodies healthy: some of the staff belong to walking groups, a few of us signed up for an exercise class together, and a few of us have chosen events that require long term training. Dr Moore is training for this summer's marathon canoe racing season, Andy is training for a triathlon this summer, and Dr Aronow is training for the Chicago Marathon this fall.
In this and future issues, we will be letting you know when we are combining these events with fundraising acitivities. In this issue, the spotlight is on Laura and Misha:
This summer, Laura and Misha will be participating in a very special event called the Breast Cancer 3-Day. They will walk 60 miles over the course of three days with thousands of other women and men. The net proceeds will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.
They have agreed to raise at least $4600 in donations and they are asking for your help. Would you please consider making a donation? You can visit their team page Bust a Move and make a donation online.
Laura and Misha thank you!

Car Seat Clinic on June 26 (11 am-2 pm):
The March clinic was full with a waiting list, so please contact us soon if you would like an appointment.
One of our most popular events is returning: certified technicians will check that your car seats and booster seats are correctly installed and teach you how to correctly install the seats yourself during a one on one session. Appointments are available every 20 minutes beginning at 11:00 am. We will schedule 20 minutes per car seat/booster seat in your car. Statistics show that 70-90% of car seats are incorrectly installed, and the results of previous car seat safety clinics have matched those statistics.

Be a Participant; Win a T-shirt
We are continuing to distribute our black and white "Participant" t-shirts to any child who runs or walks a 5K. The 1 mile Run for the Rolls that precedes the Chelsea Fair Parade also qualifies children to win a t-shirt.
Look for us at the GOTR of SE Michigan 5K event on Saturday June 6. We're proud to be a sponsor for this event, and we'll be there cheering on some of our patients from the Grass Lake, Chelsea, and Dexter chapters.
We're participating ourselves: Andy will be participating in the She Rocks triathlon; Dr Aronow in the Chicago marathon this fall; Dr Moore in the marathon canoe racing season, including a race in Ann Arbor in June. |
