"Re-Fresh" exhibition in October

This exhibition, "Re-fresh," will explore the relationship between traditional objects and contemporary interpretations of their function in today's world. How is historic metalwork refigured and by what means is this determined? The show will highlight current trends and new approaches. Metalsmiths and object makers working with traditional and nontraditional techniques are encouraged to apply.

Palladium Alliance International Design Competition  

The Palladium Alliance International (PAI) is sponsoring a competition to showcase custom designs crafted in palladium. 

 

Open to designers and retailers located in   

the United States and the District of Columbia. Entries must be made of 95% palladium alloy as the only precious metal design element, and feature only genuine gemstones if gemstones are included. Criteria: how well the design highlights palladium's natural whiteness, durability and light weight.

 

The top three designs will be featured in PAI print ads in top fashion magazines,such as W, Elle, Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan. The Grand Prize winner will create a line of palladium jewelry with PAI supplying up to thirty ounces of 950 palladium alloy. Other prizes include a professional photo of the winning design, and inclusion in a major stylist showroom throughout 2013 for possible use in celebrity dressings at major events.
