Live Auction at the SNAG Conference
Get ready for our live auction Saturday evening at 8:00 pm, auctioning off just five select pieces donated by some of our distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award recipients: the 2012 recipient J. Fred Woell, Brent Kington, Mary Ann Scherr, Imogene "Tex" Gieling, and Arline Fisch.
All proceeds help underwrite the new Member Profile pages on SNAG's new website. You'll find out more about this at the conference and in next week's Riveting News. Stay tuned.

Each year, the Center for Craft, Creativity & Design awards graduating seniors each with $15,000 in the form of a Windgate Fellowship. This money gives these emerging artists the validation and financial resources to pursue their dreams.

Forging on the River This Saturday, May 25, is International Blacksmith Day. All day at The Metal Museum is free admission, an aluminum pour, and blacksmithing demos. Always a fun day.

New Browser Version for Digital Metalsmith
In the next issue of Metalsmith, which mails out June 1, you'll see a new browser for the digital version. A new side navigation bar carrying frequently used tools, a new "Share" button for social networking sharing of pages, and other changes that include:
- Faster page presentation
- Improved search interface
- Bigger thumbnails
- Blacker text
- More vibrant images
Also newly added for a better user experience:
- Highlighted links
- Improved integration of website content into the digital
- magazines and apps
- Upgrade of proprietary email server software

Registration Open Forging Entrepreneurs: Tools and Skills for Business Success
SNAG's new business symposium for independent jewelers and metalsmiths running small businesses.
One full day, Sunday August 26, Pittsburgh, PA, in collaboration with the Society for Contemporary Craft. Eight presentations, each given twice. Four presentations address technical ways to be more productive and improve your bottom line. The other four will advance your business acumen.
