Dana Singer, Executive Director
Week of May 7, 2012

Greetings!

This is the last of our Q&A series with the two candidates running to be the next SNAG President.

Question #6: Articulate one measurable goal you would set for yourself to have accomplished by the end of your term.

Click here to read the responses from John Rose and Renee Zettle-Sterling.

Voting opens at the end of the week. We will send details in a dedicated email to all SNAG members.

I hope you will take time to read all the candidates' responses to our questions. Often people vote based on who they know, or what name is most recognizable, instead of looking at who might be a good candidate. Here is the Q&A with the four board candidates who are running for the two open seats.

This week we also profile our last candidate for the board of directors, Marthe Le Van.

New Option for Receiving Digital Metalsmith
digital MetalsmithIn response to requests from SNAG members who want to reduce their dependence on paper, any member can now opt to receive only the digital Metalsmith and not the hard copy in the mail.

It's simple. Just send an email to Tara Jecklin  and she'll make this change in your database record. Or when your membership is up for renewal, you'll be offered this as an option.

NEW
50/50 Raffle Tickets Added to Endowment Raffle
In addition to the Endowment raffle tickets, we've added 149 special 50/50 raffle tickets available for purchase at $20 apiece.

These special raffle tickets will be sold
only to folks who also buy or have bought
the regular Educational Endowment Scholarship raffle tickets.

In a 50/50 raffle, 50% of these special ticket proceeds goes to the Endowment.  The other 50% will be divided between the three winning tickets. At $20/ticket and if all 149 special tickets sell, the total raised would be $2,980. That's $500 per winning ticket (rounding up).

Just call 541-345-5689 to buy these 50/50 raffle tickets, no later than noon Pacific Time, Friday May 25.  Winners need not be present to win.
Endowment Raffle Tickets Still Available
Raffle tickets are just $20 each, 6 for $100.  There are only 600 raffle tickets available, when they're gone they're gone.

This list of prizes is amazing:

WINNERS NEED NOT BE AT THE CONFERENCE TO WIN

2012 SNAG Election - Board of Directors: Marthe Le Van

Each week we are profiling a different candidate for the 2012 SNAG election.

Marthe Le Van is passionate about discovering, developing, and promoting good jewelry.  When she was senior editor for Lark Books, she guided more than 60 jewelry books from concept to market, including all books in the "500" series. She founded Lark Jewelry, a division of Lark Books, and built it into a widely respected and profitable book brand.

Le Van launched two new businesses this year: a shop for Joanna Gollberg Jewelry and a company offering custom freelance services for jewelers, publishers, and arts organizations.
