Week of January 23, 2012 Greetings!
The SNAG election is heating up. We are looking for our next President, two at-large board members, and one person on the Nominations and Elections Committee. It's too early to have a complete list of those running, but I can say with complete honesty it will be one of the most interesting slates of candidates I've seen in my 13+ years with SNAG.
We will be publicizing the candidates extensively in March, April and May. I will be urging everyone to take a good look at who's running, and to vote. Most organizations experience low voter turnout. I would really like for SNAG to break this mold. Voting is one of the most essential ways to participate in SNAG. All members have voting rights, including all our student members. Voting is easily available online through our website as well as at the conference. Don't let these essential decisions be made by a miniscule percentage of our membership.
The correct deadline to become a candidate in SNAG's 2012 election is February 25, not April 23 as stated in SNAG News. Read more or contact Mary Pearse, mpearse@uga.edu, Chair of the Nominations & Elections Committee. |
