Week of January 9, 2012

Greetings!

It doesn't take long for the year to quickly get underway.  Opportunities abound, don't miss out.  I've included five of them here, with many more to come.

We have a new batch of images of SNAG members' work on our website, on the homepage and rotating throughout. This opportunity is an exclusive member benefit. The next group of images goes up in March. Our format size is 200 x 200 pixels at 72dpi, .jpg file format. So far we've showcased the work of close to 400 members. Send yours to me at dsinger@snagmetalsmith.org

articleblocksixNew Year's Resolutions for 2012
Happy New Year! Any exciting, earth-moving resolutions on that list for 2012? Got an urge to make a civic contribution but aren't sure how? Why not run for President?

The Nominations and Elections Committee is seeking qualified Presidential candidates for the 2012 election. Persons elected to the office of President shall serve as President-Elect for one year, President for two years, and Past-President for one year, for a total of four years.

The President is an ambassador representing SNAG both outside the organization as well as within the field, promoting SNAG wherever and whenever possible. In addition, he or she is always available to listen to SNAG members' comments, issues, and concerns. Potential candidates should possess diplomacy, an urge to make a meaningful contribution to the organization, and, preferably, a commitment to their own practice. If this describes you or someone you know, please speak up!

"The best thing about serving on the board was being able to meet so many people in the field. It helped my career because I became a known entity to a lot of people in the field, and that's valuable." - former Board Member Melissa Huff

Nominations can be made directly to an NEC member or through the NEC webpage.

NEC Chair, Mary Hallam Pearse; Courtney Starrett; Kristi Kloss

To speak with someone who has direct knowledge of SNAG initiatives contact NEC Chair, Mary Hallam Pearse, 706.201.6140.
