Fairtrade and Fairmined Gold
Ethical MetalsmithsWhile awareness of material sourcing issues in the jewelry industry has seen a marked increase, access to traceable, transparent and ethical supplies continues to present conscientious jewelers with real challenges.

This November, Ethical Metalsmiths along with Fair Jewelry Action and several leaders in the ethical jewelry movement Fair Jewelry Actionagreed to introduce Fairtrade and Fairmined certified gold to the U.S. market. This initiative will provide U.S. jewelers access to gold from a known, traceable source while directly supporting the future of the artisanal mining communities. Learn more.

If you know you are interested in Fairtrade and Fairmined gold, let Ethical Metalsmiths and Fair Jewelry Action know by completing their four-minute survey before December 15.

If this describes you or someone you know, please speak up!

Nominations can be made directly to an NEC member or through the NEC webpage.

NEC Committee: Mary Hallam Pearse, Courtney Starrett, Kristi Kloss.
