November 18 Deadline for Call for Entries CU/29
CUIn conjunction with SNAG's 2012 conference in Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ, Mesa Art Center is presenting the juried exhibition, "CU|29: Contemporary Work in Copper" from April 6 to August 12, 2012. Juried by metalsmith David Huang, this exhibition will feature contemporary work made primarily of copper (at least 75%). Open to any artist working in copper, and encompasses jewelry, vessels, sculpture and wall pieces. More information about submissions. Deadline November 18, 2011.

The exhibition will also highlight exquisite copper vessels created in Santa Clara del Cobre, Mexico, borrowed from several private collections.
30 Free Passes to the Craftboston Holiday Show
CraftBostonAs part of SNAG's partnership with the Society of Arts and Crafts, we have 30 free passes to the Craftboston Holiday Show to give away to SNAG members. The dates for Craftboston are December 9-11, and admission is normally $15. Email SNAG's program manager Ellen Laing to secure your free pass, first come first served until all 30 passes are taken. These passes will be held at the Holiday Show at Will Call, with your name on the SNAG list. Final deadline December 1.

Craftboston exhibits the work of 90 craft artists showcasing one-of-a-kind and limited work in all media. SNAG members who exhibit at the Craftboston show automatically receive $35 off the price of their booth.

Call for Entries, SNAG's First Online Exhibition
Rebecca BartonJuror Gail M. Brown is looking for images of studio jewelry on the body, photographed on the maker's model of choice. "THE BODY ADORNED...Dressed and Bedecked"  will explore "adornment as experience" on the landscape of the body. The call for entries is on our website.

Submission deadline is December 9, 2011, through CAFÉ, www.callforentry.org.

SNAG Nominations and Elections Committee Seeks Qualified Candidates for 2012
SNAG Board
The SNAG Nominations and Elections Committee is seeking qualified candidates for the 2012 election. We are seeking your help in identifying potential nominees for one (1) President, two (2) members of the Board of Directors and one (1) member of the Nominations and Elections Committee.

SNAG is an organization dedicated to furthering the field of jewelry and metalsmithing by supporting the professional practice of artists, designers, jewelers, and metalsmiths. Come be a part of this dynamic organization by devoting your time, energy, and ideas to lead this group forward and the jewelry/ metals field towards greater success. SNAG leadership is created by the membership through this process.

Eco Arts Awards - Call for Entries
Functional Art/Repurposed Materials in Art & Design, $1,000 cash award for the first place winner in each category. The submission deadline is midnight, November 30, 2011. More information from the Eco Arts Awards.

Lloyd Herman, founding director of the Renwick Gallery, The Smithsonian's American Museum, is one of two jurors in this category. They will select from ten finalists, and the most influential criteria will be the artist's treatment of the Ecology theme. There will also be a People's Choice vote from the Eco Arts Awards website early in 2012.
