SNAG Has 10 Free Passes to SOFA Chicago

 SNAG needs members to staff our Resource Table at SOFA Chicago, in return for a free day pass into the show. Through the SNAG table visitors learn about SNAG, pick up complimentary copies of the magazine, subscribe to Metalsmith, and join/renew membership in SNAG. Shifts are typically 2-3 hours. The volunteer schedule will be organized by Dana Singer when it gets closer to show time.
SOFA is open Friday November 4, 11:00 to 7:00; Saturday November 5, 11:00 to 5:00; and Sunday, November 6, noon to 6:00. We also have one special Opening Night Gala pass ($75 value) if you volunteer that evening, Thursday November 3, from 7:00 to 9:00. Metalsmith Wins Another Gold Ink Award

 The 2010 Exhibition in Print, "Neo Palatial," guest curated by Garth Clark has garnered a Bronze Gold Ink Award. Gold Ink Awards are the most prestigious awards in the printing industry.
This is Metalsmith's sixth consecutive award, all published by St. Croix Press. Our hats are off to St. Croix and everyone on the Metalsmith editorial, advertising and production team. The winning pieces are featured in Printing Impressions magazine and at GoldInk.com.

Getting to Know You

 At the request of our members we have added "Getting to Know You" as a monthly email with our membership. This column introduces you to the board members of SNAG, lets you know what projects they are working on to benefit the organization, and gives you an insight into their professional lives. They will also be on our website.
Past-president Harlan Butt was the focus of the first "Getting to Know You" on September 10. Next up is Eliana Arenas. We hope you enjoy reading about your fellow members. Perhaps you will be inspired to follow in their footsteps by volunteering, maybe even join their ranks by running for the board.
