Last Day to Take Member Survey
|
|
Everyone should have received a link to take a short member survey as part of our upcoming planning retreat. If you didn't, check your spam box or contact elaing@snagmetalsmith.org for the link. Please find 10 minutes to complete this survey. The deadline is today: Monday, August 8 at midnight Pacific Time.
At the same time we fully understand you all work for a living, so as part of our thanks to members who complete the survey, Allcraft, Lark Books, and Myron Toback have generously agreed to provide nearly $800 worth of gift certificates to be awarded in a drawing.
We need your ideas, guidance and perspectives to be good stewards of SNAG's future. The board will use your input to directly shape SNAG's next phase.

Professional Development Seminar Last Segment is Online | |
The Professional Development Seminar prompted a lively Q&A discussion between the speakers and the audience. Some highlights were whether new standards are emerging for photographic images, the ethics of Photoshopping images of your work, how to decide what work should be photographed by a professional photographer, what kind of "master image" your photographer should provide, and ideas for marketing your work and gaining visibility for your blog.
Listen to the podcast on the SNAG Professional Development Seminar page for this and much more.

Zilberschmuck Art-Jewellery Catalog Through Blurb.com
| |
A catalog of work from the three most recent National Juried Jewelry Arts exhibitions produced at Zilberschmuck is now available in soft and hardcover. SNAG has been a co-sponsor of these juried exhibitions for the past five years.
Each year since 2005, artists living and working in Canada submit jewelry made in response to that year's theme. Each theme asks them to explore the formal and conceptual ideas behind the meaning of a word or phrase. The themes in 2009, 2010, and 2011 were "Connection," "Bond," and "Inspired By," respectively.
