Ralph Caplan Receives Design Mind Award

 Ralph Caplan, SNAG's keynote speaker at the 2007 Memphis conference, received the "Design Mind" National Design Award from the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum of the Smithsonian Institution. The Design Mind Award recognizes a visionary who has affected a paradigm shift in design thinking or practice through writing, research and scholarship.

New Professional Guidelines Brochures

 With funding from a private foundation, SNAG has just published two new Professional Guidelines brochures for widespread distribution. The Professional Guidelines are basic tools that have been developed as a reference to help everyone in the arts and crafts community learn how to handle common but important situations that may arise.
Contact Dana Singer to have brochures mailed to your conference, workshop, retail store, gallery, or anyplace where people are working in contemporary craft. The Guidelines were created by Harriete Estel Berman with Andy Cooperman and a blue-ribbon panel. The brochures were designed by emiko oyé with content from Harriete Estel Berman.
