"Dichotomies in Objects" Opens July 1

"Dichotomies in Objects, Contemporary South African Studio Jewelry from the Stellenbosch Area," opens July 1 at Velvet da Vinci in San Francisco. Co-curated by Lauren Kalman and Carine Terreblanche, in partnership with SNAG, this exhibition features nearly 150 pieces by 20 South African artists. An artists' reception will be held Friday, July 2, at 6 PM, and the exhibit will be open for the month of July.

Metalsmith Goes to the Movies

 We've given NBC Universal Films permission to use copies of Metalsmith in an upcoming movie starring Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph of Saturday Night Live fame. We're told they will be used as props for scenes filmed in a jewelry store and a bridal shop.
