What's Happening?

What's Happening?

"Forget about what's happened; don't keep going over old history. Be alert be present. I'm about to do something brand-new. It's bursting out! Don't you see it? There it is! I'm making a road through the desert badlands."
(Is 43:18-19 -TM)

It should be no secret that when we get in God's will, we get in the enemy's sights. But we can take comfort in knowing that God sits as a 'refiner' carefully watching and observing how we're reacting and handling it all. "Behold, I have refined thee; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction." (Is 48:10 -NIV)

Adversity should be no surprise either. It's meant to discourage us, which, if the enemy has his way, could be disastrous. Think about it, we would never even have heard of Moses and Egypt, Joshua and Jericho, Deborah and Sisera, Gideon and the Midianites, David and Goliath, and so many others of like courage, if they had somehow lost that courage. But, I'll admit, adversity can and often does divert our thinking.

In the early morning darkness recently, as I stood on my patio surrounded by several inches of the winter season's first snowfall, concerned and praying regarding that which has (and hasn't) happened over past months, the Spirit of God spoke within me, "It's not what has or hasn't happened that matters, it's what's happening now."

I was quickly reminded, arriving at 'wit's end', that with God directing the happenings', is often akin to arriving at the gateway to one's 'Desired Haven'.

"Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business on great waters, they see the works of the Lord, and His wonders in the deep. For He commands and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up the waves of the sea. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end. (Psalm 107: 23-25 / 27 -NKJ)

"He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. Let them give Thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds to men." (Psalm 107: 29-31 -NIV)

He quickly gave me a thought refresher concerning what's happening now. I thanked Him! He calmed the storm. I made a list:

1. The Jack Shaw Ministries' website (www.jackshaw.org) has been completely re-designed and will be posted soon. We thank Trey Call (Web designer for John Carter Cash - www.johncartercash.com) and David Smith, friend, 'techs-pert', and JSMI board member, for their proficient and untiring efforts and the fantastic results! Watch for it!

2. JSMI's 'CASH For Kenya' DVD project was released internationally recently by Universal Music Enterprises, and is blessing lives all over the world. Interest in the DVD and comments regarding its content has been tremendous, for which we thank God. (See below for ordering information.)

3. The Grace Christian Mission Hospital (GCMH) first phase, the building of the 'Nehemiah Walls' around the ministry's ten-acre building site in Nakuru Kenya, Africa, is more than halfway completed and moving steadily ahead.

4. The second phase, scheduled for Feb. 09, will be the Construction of a duplex dwelling to initially house a medical clinic, which will immediately be put into operation. Dr. Fred Mugo, a longtime friend, member of the JSMI Kenya Auxiliary Board, and a local pediatrician, along with his wife JackBeth, RN, will head the clinic. They will screen, enlist and supervise several additional medical staff members. Services rendered will include typical first aid, pre-natal care and education, administration of medications, and medical screening to determine if hospitalization is necessary (Nearest hospitals: Kijabe - 67 km. and Nairobi - 137 km.)

5. God has continued to faithfully supply all our needs just as He's promised in Phil. 4:19.  We thank God and our faithful supporters that He has led to our ministry.

Join us! With all that's happening now, all that's scheduled, and all that's ahead, the appointed time is here and the GCMH vision is manifesting, and coming at us fast. While we are indeed thankful for those who God has already led to join this vital humanitarian outreach, we need your help as well. These are prophetic and exciting times. God is pouring out His Spirit all over the earth. Be a part of it all! Join us! Luke 1:37
