Mother-so precious the memories
A Message From Jack
"The real religious convictions of the world comes
from women much more than from men--from
mothers most of all, who carry the key of our souls in
their bosoms." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
"The woman who creates and sustains a home
and under whose hands children grow up to be strong
and pure men and women, is a creator second only to
God." -Helen Hunt Jackson
Mothers are given of God, and so return--but
precious memories of 'Mother' inhabit the child's soul
forever. -J B Shaw ©2007

When the Borrower is GOD!

""God, mark us with grace and blessing! Smile!
The whole country will see how you work." (Ps 67:1-2 -
MSG)
Most of us have likely been to the local bank at one
time or another to, 'borrow'. In signing the 'loan
papers', if we've read the large print (that
sometimes 'giveth') and, the small print (that
usually 'taketh away'), we've noticed a clear list of the
lender's 'conditions' to which the borrower must
agree to meet exactly as stated in repaying the loan.
This then, legally, puts the 'borrower' in an agreed
subservient position to the 'lender'.
Did you know that God's word also clearly states
an important relative spiritual truth regarding
the 'positioning' of the one who 'borrows' relative to
the one who 'lends'? Listen, "Just as the rich rule
the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender." (Pr
22:7 -NLT) Notice now the distinctive position of
the 'borrower' relative to the 'lender'.
This becomes very interesting when we consider
another scripture from Proverbs, "He who is kind to
the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward him for
what he has done." (Pr 19:17 -NIV)

Once again notice, when you and I help the poor, we,
in effect, lend to the Lord. Dare we say now, doesn't
that make us-the 'lender', and God the 'borrower'? I
think so. And wouldn't that also make our loving God
a 'servant' to those who lend to the poor in one-way-or-
another?
When we imagine that, we just want to
shout, "Wow!" And when we add another scripture to
the mix, we'd better watch out-for our minds could
race! Here goes, Listen, "Honor the Lord with your
possessions, with the first fruits of all your increase;
so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats
will overflow with new wine." (Pr 3: 9-10 -NKJV) Do
you understand, as we give of our very best to help the
world's very least, our loving Heavenly Father
becomes our willing servant-and immediately goes
about filling our 'barns' with plenty, and our 'vats' with
new wine, i.e. meeting and supplying every
encompassing 'need' that we may have. Hallelujah! If
that isn't Good news worth jumping up and shouting
about, nothing is, or ever will be.
"Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor!
The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble. The
Lord protects them and keeps them alive. He gives
them prosperity in the land and rescues them from
their enemies."(Ps 41:1-2 -NTL)

Honoring the Memory of Loved Ones Departed

"Is it well with the child?'" And she answered, "It
is well." (2Kings 4:26 -NAS)We Shall Meet
Again
A little while and we shall meet again--the loved
and lost; but in the rapturous joy of greetings, such as
here we cannot know, and happy song, and heavenly
embraces, and tender recollections rushing back of
life now passed, I think one memory more dear and
sacred than the rest will rise, and we who gather in the
golden streets, will oft be stirred to speak with grateful
love of that dark day Jesus called us to climb the
narrow steep, leaning on Him alone. (Streams /
revised -J B Shaw)
"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and
the life. No one comes to the Father except through
Me." (John 14:6 -NKJV)
"If you tell others with your own mouth that
Jesus Christ is your Lord, and believe in your heart
that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be
saved. For it is by believing in (one's) heart that a man
becomes right with God; and with (one's) mouth he
tells others of his faith, confirming his salvation.
Anyone
who calls upon the name of the Lord (in this way) will
be saved." (Rom 10: 9, 10&13 -TLB)
