Personal Message from Jack
"That thy way may be known upon earth,
Thy saving health among all nations." (Ps
67:2)
One of our ministries goals is the completion of
the Grace Christian Mission Hospital in Nakuru,
Kenya. We believe that this facility will have a
positive impact on reducing the following Kenya
health statistics
Less than 38% of the people have access to
sanitation
Health staffs assist only 44% of births
Only four other countries in the world have more
children living with AIDS
Kenya now leads the world in HIV infections
Kenya has one of the highest rates of population
growth in the world and 50% of the population live
on less than a dollar a day
800 people die daily from HIV/AIDS
15 Million Kenyans live in poverty
In Kenya, HIV/AIDS is a National Emergency. An
estimated 2.1 million adults and children live with
HIV/AIDS
Almost 80 percent of the 22 million deaths from
AIDS since the beginning of the epidemic have
occurred in Africa.
In Africa the vast majority of persons in this age
group are parents, so AIDS has been responsible for
orphaning millions of African children
143 million children worldwide, many of whom live
in Kenya, have lost one or both parents

be mailed to you. JSMI is a 501c3 ministry and an

The Dalton Family
Fred and Shirley Dalton, and their three children
(Christine – 17, Matthew –14, and Amanda –12)
arrived in Kenya nearly three months ago and have
been deeply involved in the JSMI mission since
shortly
after their plane touched down in Nairobi.
Fred, an experienced Bio-Medical Technician, has
been traveling the dangerous Kenyan roads at all
times of the night and day repairing and installing
medical equipment in Kenya's scarce and sparse
medical facilities, many of which are located in some
of the most remote regions of the nation.

Kenya's Need is Great
The need for medical services and spiritual renewal in
Kenya is great. To help meet that need, Jack Shaw
Ministries International (JSMI) is building the Grace
Christian Mission Hospital (GCMH) in Nakuru, Kenya,
East Africa.
Fred and his family felt led by the Holy Spirit to be a
part of JSMI and the Grace Christian Mission Hospital.
The Dalton family saw moving to Kenya as a step of
faith to prepare for building GCMH. They have laid
fear, doubt, and worry at God’s feet and He has
given them joy and peace.

Urgent Need for Reliable Vehicle
Perilous for Fred and Shirley and their children is the
fact that thieves are often lurking prepared to
pounce on the first traveler whose vehicle breaks
down.
Adding to this peril is the fact Americans and
Europeans become ‘targets’, as they are routinely
considered ‘wealthy’. Even more troubling is the fact
that the high-tech and expensive medical equipment
that Fred routinely carries is particularly attractive.
The Dalton’s current vehicle is old, borrowed, the
four-wheel-drive (FWD) does not work, and it is in
much need of additional repairs. They also have to
pay dearly for every mile that it is used. Their need
for a safe and reliable FWD vehicle is critical. It must
be dealt with quickly before it becomes a much
bigger problem.
In a third world nation such as Kenya, to acquire a
used, yet rugged and dependable ‘family size’ FWD
vehicle with adequate space for transporting medical
equipment, about $35,000 to $40,000 is needed.

Please Help Today
The construction of the 'Nehemiah' walls is currently
scheduled to begin just weeks from now. The need
for a vehicle is also essential to Fred’s involvement in
the preplanning activities, addressing local
compliances, etc. We offer you an opportunity to be
a part of the ground floor thrust in establishing this
vital medical and educational complex in Kenya; a
nation where over 800 people die from AIDS alone
each and every day.
We are asking for your financial gift of $1,000
Dollars to be applied toward the purchase of the
needed FWD vehicle, with amounts received above
the vehicle cost being applied toward construction of
the ‘Nehemiah' walls. Any amounts received whether
less or more than $1,000, will be deeply appreciated
and likewise be applied as stated. [NOTE: Your gifts
are tax deductible. A JSMI receipt will be mailed to
you.]
