Please consider an Annual Support Contribution to

Friendship Ambassadors Foundation

FALL 2010

THANK YOU! For your past support and interest in our

Mission to Promote Peace through Cultural Exchange.

In 2010 ....

· FAF and the International Relief Friendship Foundation built a shelter with kitchen for homeless youth & elderly citizens in a community on the outskirts of San Jose, Costa Rica

· FAF led or helped facilitate several major conferences: Women, Water, and Food Security (Calcutta), UN DPI Disarmament Conference (Mexico City), Convocation on the Rights of the Child (UN/NYC), the 7th Annual Youth Assembly at the UN (UN/NYC), and the UN DPI Global Health Conference (Melbourne)

· FAF developed and led major cultural exchange projects in South America and Asia

Please consider Annual Support to Friendship Ambassadors Foundation at this time:

· In 2011, FAF will continue the its new, bricks-and-mortar construction projects in Costa Rica.  This highlights the foundation's ability to create intercultural exchanges that advance youth leadership through service on ALL levels.

· In 2011, FAF has been invited to create a Major New Jazz Festival in Mamaroneck, New York by its Mayor's direct request. FAF staff will lead the new festival which could, in the future, come to define Mamaroneck as a center for Jazz presentation throughout the world.  FAF has led several major conferences and events in 2010.

You can help ensure FAF has the resources in place that will make these exciting initiatives

successful in 2011 and beyond with a special, annual donation at this time.

· In 2011, we will seek increased support for FAF's increasingly respected Youth Fellows.   FAF Youth Fellows come from around the world to Greenwich each May, assist in the development of the annual Youth Assembly at the United Nations, attend the events  - and eventually join FAF's growing list of Success Stories.

See FAF Youth Fellows Success Stories, here. The YA received no external support in 2010.  The

foundation is seeking major sponsoship to help underwrite 2011 FAF Youth Fellows at this time.

· And of course, as we do every year, the foundation will be facilitating the travel of cultural ensembles and communities: from concerts to academic & service programs, FAF creates exchanges with impact that advance mutual understanding worldwide.

The centerpiece of our mission: YOUR support now will help FAF create concert programs and 'voluntourism' projects that are means of promoting peace and sustainable development  ... through real cultural exchange and volunteer service in emerging regions worldwide

We hope you saw FAF's commendations from our most impactful and successful year of service in many?  Please read the Addendum below for a recap - it includes some important additions to our commendations since the Year-End Release last month.  We hope this encourages you to make an annual donation to the foundation at this time.

And should you ask yourself: Why Donate to FAF? ~ Well ... FAF provides low cost, high quality services to nonprofit organizations that are often simply unavailable elsewhere - in short, FAF's services turn well-intentioned international programming into great, life changing events.  However, FAF neither has a large endowment nor receives large donations, ever. All of FAF's funds are earned through commissions and other  sponsorships we attract, etc.  Therefore, your dontations are VERY meaningful - they keep the operations of FAF strong enough to be of service to a select number of 'impactful' nonprofit and academic clients - at absolutely no fee over actal cost to those organiations, ever.

This giving season you can help us help more people, empower more youth leaders, and enable more peace and development efforts throughout the world with a generous donation, sponsorship of our Youth Fellows, or by otherwise joining efforts with FAF to help us succeed with our programming goals in 2011.

Please, right now, go to: NETWORK FOR GOOD and contribute generously, today!

Thank you in advance from the entire team and volunteers - please be generous, we need your support. And our best wishes for a great Holiday Season and New Year,

Patrick Sciarratta

Executive Director, FAF

"Many thanks to FAF for exemplary planning.  They combined the high points of 'seeing the sights' with the gratifying experience of meeting with our colleagues and grantee partners in Nepal and India - topped off with a conference in Calcutta focusing on Women, Water, and Food Security. FAF was most professional and thorough, resulting in a trip that was truly memorable for all participants."

"On my visit to Mexico City in September 2009, I had the benefit of having  Friendship Ambassadors Foundation take care of all my logistical arrangements. Thanks to the dedication of their staff, their superb efficiency and excellent organization, all worked smoothly and I had a positively memorable experience on this trip." "I had thought that I had both seen and experienced nearly everything in my 25 years of traveling with the Friendship Ambassadors Foundation. Little did I know that a new, unique experience was awaiting myself and my performing troupe, Synergy, in the Philippines.  Suffice it to say, my life has been altered forever. "2010 marks a decade of our work with Friendship Ambassadors, an infinitely imaginative, flexible, hard working and communicative organization dedicated to peace through cultural exchange.  Thanks to the truly global perspective and expertise of the FAF staff and administration, my colleagues and I at West Virginia Wesleyan College have been able to develop a meaningful curriculum abroad during the past ten years.

"For any project involving the education of young people abroad in the twenty-first century we can certainly recommend without reservation the skill, breadth of vision, and ever evolving,  comprehensive contacts, of Friendship Ambassadors. "

... OTHER FAF PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS IN 2010 ...
A Middle School Exchange becomes a Concert for UNICEF and Haiti
Nearly 200 orchestral and choral youth musicians and singers gathered in Washington D.C. last April under the aegis of Friendship Ambassadors Foundation.  The Huntington Youth Orchestra from California traveled on a concert tour to the area with FAF.  The foundation's directors, responding to the recent earthquake in Haiti, paired them up two Langston Hughes Middle School orchestras and the renowned World Children's Choir of Washington D.C.  All the middle school children and their parents agreed to one large fund raiser for Haiti which FAF produced on April 8.  Donations went to UNICEF/USA. (Final encore pictured below.)

"The With One Dream...Rebuilding Hope in Haiti Benefit Concert sponsored by Friendship Ambassadors Foundation was not only a highlight, it was the best performance World Children's Choir sang in for the entire 2009/10 concert season. I can still hear the voices of the children and the 150 wonderful young orchestra players performing With One Dream to conclude the concert.  This is a very precious lifetime memory.  We are still receiving compliments, and send our love and gratitude to you, Yin-Chu, and everyone at Friendship Ambassadors Foundation for making this event possible."
Sondra Harnes, Artistic Director/Conductor, World Children's Choir, 2010

Endowment continues to aid emerging playwrights through New Dramatists

MaNew Dramatistsny FAF supporters do not know that the Foundation adjudicates the
Barbara Barondess MacLean endowment to young playwrights through its annual allocations to New Dramatists. The organization is now celebrating its 60th year of helping new writers for the theatre take shape.  Among other recipients through FAF, New Dramatists receives a major portion of the BBM funding.

"The Barbara Barondess Festival of Readings is a truly special way for us to pay tribute to the writers and their residencies with New Dramatists. We want to extend our gratitude for your past support and for what this gift makes possible.  In light of the impact of today's economy on support for artists, these funds could not come at a more critical time.  Thank you for your recognition, encouragement, and support."
Joel K. Ruark, Executive Director, New Dramatists

FAF E.D. Addresses World Summit on Innovation and Universities, in China

Foundation Executive Director Patrick Sciarratta presented the Keynote Address on Innovation in Education and Exchange at the World Summit on Innovation Education in Nantong, China (near Shanghai, March 2010).  This after appearances at Remnin University, one of China's best and largest, and then at the sprawling Tangshan University south of the capital. President Tian of Tangshan University was so impressed by Mr. Sciarratta's presentation that she has offered FAF the opportunity to name up to ten (10) Scholarships in Ceramics to their university Art Department.
