The Youth Assembly shows how one person can make a difference by engaging with present-day challenges through education and active citizen diplomacy. It provides avenues for students and young professionals like YOU to learn about and become involved with programs that address the global issues resonant in the MDGs, network among the large, international delegate presence, and become engaged and empowered to take leadership roles in their home communities.

• With delegate numbers already near capacity due to UN renovations, assure yourself a place at one of the largest public events for youth on the UN's annual calendar;
• Take advantage of optional accommodation specials available for both individuals and groups while they last;
and
• Make sure you don't miss out on the YA's popular special events due to anticipated overflow participation once again in 2010.

4 - 6 August, 2010:
~ Ensure that your voice is heard before and at the Youth Assembly;
~ Participate in one of the YA's Leadership Seminars, which are anticipated to reach capacity early this year;
~ Apply for the 2010 Youth Achievement Award. Teens 16-18 years old only: your school, community, religious, or civic organization can nominate you for SPECIAL RECOGNITION for your humanitarian deeds related to MDG goals in 2009-10;
~ Perform with your youth art ensemble during the YA's U. C. Peace Arts Festival! Performance Groups interested in Cultural Diplomacy and Peace through the Arts are invited to join us for a day, or two, the entire week, or more; and
~ Tell others about the YA and all the other informative, engaging and fun activities surrounding it that every global youth leader has come to know, expect, and anticipate each summer in New York.

Fulbright Student Fellowships for Master and Ph.D
The Fulbright Program was established to increase mutual understanding between the peoples of the United States and other countries, through the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills. It provides funds for students, scholars and professionals to undertake graduate study and advanced research. The program was promoted by and named after Arkansas Senator J. William Fulbright, who promulgated its passage through the US Senate in 1946. The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce the opportunity to compete for Fulbright Student Fellowships for graduate study in the United States leading to a Master's degree or a Ph.D.

FAO International Art Competition
The Young Hands Together for Diversity International Art Competition is part of a worldwide youth education initiative on biodiversity to provide children and young people with useful information and help them participate in protecting, preserving and improving biodiversity in their communities. The theme for the competition is 'biodiversity' and what it means to young people around the world. For example, in their artwork, children and youth may explore the amazing variety of life on the planet, the richness of ecosystems, the reasons why biodiversity is being lost, or the things people are doing to protect biodiversity.
