Massive Interest in BR Products at World Of Concrete

A typical crowd watching a demo at our WOC booth

Wow! The World of Concrete was an amazing opportunity for us to see many old friends and meet even more new ones, with a packed booth morning til evening every day. Beto Esquivel conducted energetic demos full-time, making a vanity with integral sink, a bistro table, both  upside down  and right side up trowelled slabs. Visitors got to see how we press, lay in color, trowel, mix and color, with gloves available for getting hands in the Mix. Matt was there demonstrating sealing on Friday and it was fun to see people watching him in the advanced DVD on the monitor, and then doing a double take when they saw him in front of them. If you were there, thanks for dropping by, and if you weren't, come see us at the Concrete Countertop Industry Conference in August in Sacramento.

Important Cold Weather Advice from Buddy
Concrete reaction is temperature sensitive.  Temperatures below 55 degrees will retard or completely stifle the curing process.
That means special care should be taken to maintain a room temperature of approximately 60 degrees and to use room temperature or warmed mix water.  Tap water in the winter can be pretty close to freezing, and this cold water can adversely affect your results.  Conversely, cool water can be used in the summer to slow the curing process and increase the time that the concrete is workable.

Chemical sealers, too, are designed to be applied to surfaces at normal (55-85) temperatures.  Application outside of this range may produce unpredictable results.

New Buddy Rhodes Artisans
Click to  the website for our New Artisans: Zac Coletti owns Concrete Canvas in Sebastian, Florida, and Brad Herrold owns Appalachian Concrete Designs in Danville, Pennsylvania. Zac and Brad both came to train with Beto and Buddy in San Francisco. Their excitement and love for concrete artistry is wonderful and has led them to build successful businesses creating expert concrete countertops. The roster of recommended Artisans around the country is growing fast and we're really happy to expand this opportunity for them  as well as for  the customers who can find a fabricator in their own region. Of course, we enjoy the opportunity to spread the word about the many possibilities of hand crafted countertops formed with BR products and methods . Click here
