Tips & Tricks
Making the Most of your Fleet Management System
______________________________________________________________________
Reports by Driver Until now, you were only able to run reports on specific vehicles in FleetMinder and WebView. Our customers asked, "But what if I have multiple drivers who use the same truck?"
You asked and we listened!
Now you are able to choose whether to run reports on vehicles OR drivers. When you start running a report, you must choose which type of report you would like to run: Vehicle or Driver. In order to run a Driver Report, you must have drivers set up in FleetMinder.
If you need help entering drivers or using this new feature, visit help.vtsn.com or fill out a service form and a VTS representative will contact you shortly.

VTS Customers See 11% Savings in Fuel Costs
As
the cost of crude oil exceeds $100 per barrel, gasoline prices continue
to rise. According to AAA (www.aaa.com), the average price of gasoline
is at a national average of $3.28 per gallon. Analysts expect those
prices to rise with the arrival of warm weather to above $3.50 per
gallon. As fuel costs rise to record levels, more and more businesses
look to GPS fleet tracking to moderate these costs.
According to
a recent study by the Aberdeen Group, the implementation of a GPS
system provides and average 13.2% reduction in fuel costs. The same
study found that nearly one-third of service companies are using
GPS-based location data to improve customer service response times,
workforce utilization, and service profitability. Click here to read more...

LCT Show a Success!

The world's largest limousine show did not disappoint this year, as tens of thousands of business owners and fleet managers shared industry information and showed state-of-the-art limousines and aftermarket products.
Adam Ross and Peter Montaglione, VTS Fleet Management Specialists, were present to meet prospective customers, representatives of limousine trade associations, and even some current customers! Barbara from Gem Limousine was a welcome guest at the VTS booth, where she shared her company's success story with booth visitors. Gem Limo has already seen a monthly savings of $3,649.14 in fuel costs after implementing a VTS tracking system!

Seeing Double: Using Multiple Monitors by Kerri Allmer
If you're like me, your job duties require you to multi-task from 9-5. When you're part of a successful company, single-tasking becomes an activity of the past. In today's fast-paced world, people require information quickly- they don't have time to wait while you scramble to collect information from 4 different programs on your computer.
How do I get everything done that I need to? I use two monitors. Actually, everyone's computer at VTS is equipped with (at least) 2 monitors because it allows us to work quicker and more efficiently.
Many times I find myself checking email, working on this newsletter, viewing a spreadsheet and researching information online- all at once. With two monitors, I'm able to view multiple programs at once- more than doubling my productivity.
Copying and pasting from one program to another is a breeze when you can display the two windows right next to each other. No more minimizing and restoring windows a thousand times a day.
Would I ever go back to one screen? Well, actually I have to when I head home at 5:00. But I'll tell you what- I'm not happy about it. I have a feeling that most people who already have the privilege of using multiple screen would say the same thing: Once you see double, you'll never go back.
