This year, SE Uplift's Ice Cream Social is going mobile!
Please join us for this family friendly " open house" on Monday August 6th, 2012 at 6:30pm at the site of a celebrated neighborhood project, Our Happy Block!
The Our Happy Block project has successfully transformed a portion of the Mt. Scott-Arleta neighborhood and Calvary Church parking lot into a safe, beautiful and ecologically friendly area that includes a parking lot depave and redesign, a native plant learning garden, storm water rain gardens and the fantastic "Love Bomb" mural.
We are partnering with the Mt. Scott-Arleta Neighborhood Association who will be providing light food and grills - so please feel free to bring your own grill-able food items.
We look forward to seeing you there!

It will be offered by SEPTL and Earthquake Tech (www.earthquaketech.com), a certified Continuing Education provider which has considerable experience leading this sort of event.
The focus will be on what tools a person needs to do the seismic retrofit and how to use the tools correctly. Participants will get some real hands on time with the tools.

Time: 10:00 to 11:30 am
Where: In the St. Davids Church's Parish Hall.
Division Street Safety Public Meeting Date - September 26, 2012 / Time - Evening (time to be determined)
Where - Warner Pacific College
Why - Portland Bureau of Transportation wants feedback from the neighborhood on safety options for Division. PLEASE ATTEND AND LET PBOT KNOW HOW MUCH WE CARE ABOUT DIVISION SAFETY. PBOT will present some alternatives for making SE Division between 60th and 82nd safer for pedestrians, bikes, and autos. One option is what is called a "road diet". This option would involve repainting the street with three lanes (one each direction and a left turn lane), bike lanes on each side and possibly bus turn outs. With this option pedestrian islands would be possible at crosswalks (68th and at least one new crosswalk at 64th).
