The U.S. Census questionnaire will be coming to your household soon--look for it in March.  The census is a count that takes places every 10 years of everyone living in the United States, as required by the U.S. Constitution.  The counts determine, in part, how the federal government divides $400 billion to states and local communities.  The counts also determine representation in the U.S. House of Representatives.

With only 10 questions, the 2010 census questionnaire is one of the shortest in history and takes just 10 minutes to complete.

Hybrid Water Heaters Now Available at Flint Appliance Center

Are you in the market for a new water heater?  How about one that uses approximately half the electricity as your current water heater?  Sounds to good to be true, right?  Not anymore.

The Flint Appliance Center is now offering the new GE Hybrid electric water heater to its members, according to Sr. Vice President Jimmy Autry. "This new water heater is designed to provide the same hot water homeowners are accustomed to, but requires only about half the energy to produce it," said Autry.

WPCA Is a Credit in MarchWPCA
The Wholesale Power Cost Adjustment (WPCA) listed on Flint Energies member bills will be a credit of $0.0090 in March. On all bills rendered during the month, the separate line item called WPCA will be shown as -$0.0090 per kilowatt- hour (kWh). On a member's average bill of 1500 kilowatt hours, this will amount to a credit of $13.50 on the March bill.

Have You Received Your Energy Star Tax Rebate?

Energy StarTime and money are running out for you to take advantage of the ENERGY STAR tax rebate offered by the state of Georgia.

If you purchase an energy-efficient product or renewable energy system for your home, you may be eligible for a federal tax credit. Below you will find an overview of the federal tax credits for energy efficiency.

Please note, not all ENERGY STAR qualified products qualify for a tax credit. ENERGY STAR distinguishes energy efficient products which, although they may cost more to purchase than standard models, will pay you back in lower energy bills within a reasonable amount of time, without a tax credit.

Unplug
I PULLED THE PLUG ON MY ENERGY COSTS JUST BY PULLING A FEW PLUGS.

TVs, gaming consoles, DVRs, cable boxes and almost anything that has a plug uses energy even when it's off. I'm saving $222 a year by pulling plugs and turning off power strips. What can you do? Find out how the little changes add up at Together We Save
Because we are a not-for-profit electric cooperative, we at Flint Energies know that we work for you every day. Thanks for letting us serve.

Sincerely,

Jimmy Autry
