Are you a visionary woman?
A recent article[i] points to the fact that women leaders are not perceived as having strong visionary leadership skills despite having higher rankings than men on the majority (7/10) of leadership dimensions measured in the study, as rated by both men and women. The one exception: women scored lower on "envisioning" which is defined as "Articulating a compelling vision, mission and strategy that incorporate a multicultural and diverse perspective and connect employees, shareholders, suppliers and customers on a global scale."

Ask a Business Advisor By Kathleen McCloskey
Have questions about AWE financing? Here's an outline of frequently asked questions regarding our loan program.
Is AWE the same as a regular bank?
The business loan world is divided into traditional and non-traditional lenders. Chartered banks and Credit Unions are considered traditional lenders and they tend to make lending decisions based on credit history or by using a computer generated "formula." Non-traditional lenders are generally able to consider other criteria.
- AWE is a business plan lender and we strongly focus on business viability and the business plan provided by the applicant. We are a not-for-profit organization with a mandate is to help women be successful in business so we do a lot more than just lend money. We also provide individual business advising as well as provide training in a number of business areas.
