The PR/PF course may be taken as a
stand-alone course for medical
professionals or fitness/movement
teachers who
are interested in the Polestar Pilates
Rehabilitation
program and philosophy.
The Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation
approach
provides a unique environment to receive
in-depth
instruction in Pilates principles, techniques
and
practice.
Throughout the course we will apply current
research in movement science, biomechanics,
kinesiology and motor learning to instructional
practice through six basic movement
principles that
are observed in all Pilates exercises.
The Polestar approach is comprehensive in
problem-solving skills and encourages
adaptations and creativity to better serve the
rehabilitation or post-rehabilitation
client.
Participants will be instructed in both
original and modified Pilates exercises on
and how to
differentiate between the two in theory and
practice.
Common pathologies, contra-indications and
precautions will also be discussed.
