GOING UNDER THE KNIFE DAILY?
In American slang, the term "going under the knife" refers to having surgery, and as such it's something that most of us, given the choice, would choose to avoid. The Scriptures on the other hand tell us that...
"The word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12
...and as such it can perform the kind of corrective surgery to which we should willingly subject ourselves each day. Do you remember when Jesus was in the wilderness being tempted by Satan? The enemy said to Him, "If you are the Son of God, command these stones to turn to bread." Jesus said, "It is written, man shall not live by bread alone." Three times Jesus said, "It is written..." He didn't say, I'm thinking positively about it." He said, "It is written..." and He quoted the Word of God.
God still uses His Word to do His work in our lives today. I hope you can join us this weekend as we're continuing our series "40 Days In The Word" and looking at "How the Bible Changes Us."
Embracing the journey,
Pastor Rick
