40 DAYS BEGINS...
This weekend, ERBC kicks off our 40 Days In The Word campaign. What is 40 Days In The Word? It's a spiritual growth campaign, wherein we commit to growing to be more like Jesus --as individuals and as a congregation. When we say "campaign, " we mean a time of unified focus in the weekend sermons, our CORE Groups, and interactive elements (such as the web) to help you learn and grow. This 40 Days campaign will show you how to not just hear the Word, but to be a doer of the Word as well.
Sermon Series: Every week, for the next seven weeks, Pastor Jordan, Andrew and I will be teaching about why the Bible is so important to our lives as Christ-followers. This sermon series, originally written by Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Community  Church in January, has been taught so far in over 8,000 churches all over the world! We'll kick off this weekend by talking about why it's so important for us to build our lives on the Bible. Over the next six weeks, we'll talk about why we can trust the Bible, how to study the Bible, and how to integrate the Bible into our daily lives.
Daily Devotions: We call this a campaign because it is so much more than just 7 weekend messages. Beginning this coming Monday, October 1st, we hope that every person at ERBC will begin a daily devotional. Each day for 40 days a different pastor will lead us in our private study of God's Word. You can go to 40daysintheword.com and sign up for free. You can also sign up for daily emails or text messages reminding you to participate each day for 40 days.
CORE Groups: If you haven't already joined a CORE Group, it's not too late. You can sign up online or at the worship services this weekend. Each week, our CORE Groups will go through a short lesson on DVD, led by Pastor Rick Warren, while taking notes in a workbook that each member will receive at their first meeting. Next they'll discuss together the material that they have studied.
Bible Memory: Each weekend we'll be challenged to hide God's Word in our hearts as we commit a verse of scripture to memory and then review those verses when we come together for worship.
Changed Lives! I'm looking forward to seeing the many ways that God will change lives in this campaign. Please pray with me that we'll make the most of our opportunity to grow closer to one another and to God in these next 7 weeks!

 CORE GROUPS
CoreGroups are small groups of 12-15 people who meet weekly to discuss interesting questions related to our pastors' messages, as well as build friendships, grow spiritually, pray for one another, serve together, and have fun.  NIGHT OF WORSHIP

 LUNCH FOR THE HOMELESS
THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29
Join us in preparing lunches for the homeless, Saturday, September 29. We'll meet at ERBC at 9AM to prepare sandwiches and pack sack lunches, which we'll then deliver to Union Station in Pasadena.
