RULES & RELATIONSHIP
For a lot of people, Christianity is about following a set of rules. If you asked them "Why?" they would most likely point you to the Bible, or maybe more specifically to the Ten Commandments. But what most people miss is the context in which those commands were given. Long before God gave His people rules to live by, He established a relationship with them. He wanted them to know that they were His people and He was their God. With God, a relationship always precedes rules. Always.
One of the biggest mistakes that people make is thinking that God loves and accepts us on the basis of our behavior. The message of the Bible is exactly the opposite.
This weekend we're beginning a new study called "Law and Order: Original Intent." Each week we'll be looking at one of the Ten Commandments, and we'll see why it was given and what it means. I hope you can join us as we kick off our series by looking at "Putting First Things First."

CoreGroups are small groups of 12-15 people who meet weekly to discuss interesting questions related to our pastors' messages, as well as build friendships, grow spiritually, pray for one another, serve together, and have fun.
