"TO BOLDLY GO WHERE NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORE"
If you're a master of T.V. trivia then you know that the line above comes from the opening of the series "Star Trek." It's part of the introduction that explains what it was that compelled the crew of the Starship Enterprise to embark on its five-year mission: "to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before..."
As I was thinking about those words, I realized that it's not unusual to begin a journey with a sense of real excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead. But, as time goes on, and the going gets tough, what happens then? Some people stay the course and keep moving forward, while others get discouraged and abandon the quest.
I came across a quote this week that speaks directly to this and to the topic that we're looking at this weekend:
"Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start now and make a brand new ending." - Carl Bard
As we continue our 'One Month To Live' series this weekend, Pastor Jordan will share with us on how we can "Leave Boldly." I hope you can join us.
Embracing the journey,
Pastor Rick
