LOSE THE SUPER BOWL, WIN A HEART ATTACK

heart stop
If you were looking for a reason to be thankful that Los Angeles doesn't have an NFL team, and that that team isn't playing in this year's Superbowl, here it is:  Recent medical research has concluded that if your home team is playing in the big game, and that team loses, the risk of you experiencing a heart attack increases dramatically.

Sports fans are very passionate people, and they often get emotionally involved in watching their favorite teams play, which is great when they win. But when their team loses, some of its most committed fans can suffer from a high degree of emotional stress, which can translate into a very high risk of cardiac death.

Does it surprise you that fans can be so passionate about a football game that it affects their health?  It shouldn't. The truth is we have the capacity to be passionate about all kinds of things in life.

This weekend as we continue our series, "One Month To Live" we're going to look at "Living Passionately."  We'll discover ways to direct the focus, determination and intentionality of our lives toward those things that matter most.

I hope you can join us for worship this Saturday at 5:30 or Sunday morning at 9AM or 11AM.

Embracing the journey,
Pastor Rick
