LOVE? GIVE.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
This verse comes right on the heels of a conversation that took place between Jesus and a Jewish leader named Nicodemus. The conversation occurred at night because, even though Nicodemus recognized that Jesus' wisdom was God-given, he wasn't ready to risk his reputation by being publicly seen with Him.
The words that Jesus shared contain one of the most profound truths contained anywhere in scripture. God loved... God gave His Son.
One thing that these words teach us is that, when it comes to the subject of generosity, God does not ask us to do anything that He has not already done for us. He loved and He gave, and He calls us, as His followers, to do likewise.
I hope you can join us this weekend as we continue our series, "Blessed to be a Blessing" with a look at "Real Riches."
Embracing the journey,
Pastor Rick |
