Where are YOU?
At every sporting event there are usually three kinds of people in attendance:
those who make things happen on the field, those who watch things happen from the stands, and those who are sitting in the stands but not really paying attention so that when something exciting occurs they turn to the person next to them and ask, "What happened?"
In the church, the same thing happens. It's called the 80/20 rule - 80% of the giving, the serving and the playing on the field is typically done by 20% of the people. The vast majority are watching and cheering from the stands, but they never get in the game.
The most discouraging thing about the 80/20 rule is that it is completely contrary to God's plan for the way His church should function. The Bible teaches that life is a team sport
--it's best done together.
This weekend we're continuing our series Get in the Game and we're asking the question, "Am I in the Game?" I hope you can join us Saturday evening at 5:30PM or Sunday morning at 9AM or 11AM.

 DARKNESS TO LIGHT
Help protect our children from sexual abuse. ERBC's Grow Zone Children's Ministry is offering "Darkness to Light - Sexual Abuse Prevention Training" on Monday, September 12 & Thursday, September 15, from 7-9PM. ERBC's outreach to international students, ISI, is preparing to begin a new year of outreach to young men and women far from their home countries who are open to new friendships with Americans and, often, to God's Word.
