Beyond the Bleachers
Playing any sport effectively takes more than a fancy playbook or complex game plan; it takes more than a good theory or a well thought-out hypothesis. To play effectively, you need players who are willing to get in the middle of the action and play the game. The same is true when it comes to the Christian life. God never called us to sit in the bleachers and simply observe the action.
In Matthew 28:19 Jesus commanded his followers to 'Go.' In other words Jesus was saying, 'Get out of the stands, get on the field and play the game.' This weekend we're beginning a new series in which we'll look at what happens when we decide to live beyond the bleachers and "Get in the Game."
I hope you can join us as we kick off the series by asking ourselves the question, "Fan or Follower?"

 DARKNESS TO LIGHT
Help protect our children from sexual abuse. ERBC's Grow Zone Children's Ministry is offering "Darkness to Light - Sexual Abuse Prevention Training" on Monday, September 12 & Thursday, September 15, from 7-9PM. ERBC's outreach to international students, ISI, is preparing to begin a new year of outreach to young men and women far from their home countries who are open to new friendships with Americans and, often, to God's Word.
