 What if God was One of Us?
That was the question posed in the Joan Osborne song from 1995, and it caused many who heard it to wonder how we would really react to a God who came down from heaven to walk and live among us? What would we ask this God amongst us? How would our life be altered? The song asked a very pointed question, "Would you want to see God's face, if seeing meant you would have to believe?"
Some of those who listened to the song may have thought that God being one of us and walking amongst us was a novel idea. But those who have embraced Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior know that God's plan to save mankind involved Him leaving heaven and coming to earth in the form of a man.
This weekend we're concluding our series of studies on the names of God by looking at the name "Immanuel: God With Us." Even though it's a name that we most often associate with Christmas, we're going to see how the truths that this name communicates should impact us 365 days of the year. I hope you can join us.

 SUMMER SPECTACULAR PROGRAM
We've had more than 80 kids at ERBC this week, having fun, learning about Jesus and making new friends. This Friday at 6:15PM we will celebrate the end of Summer Spectacular with a special program, followed by our Splish Splash Beach Bash in Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited to both events. Hang Loose Hot Dogs and Sunshine Slushies will be available. Come and reach out to our community. See you there! |
 CARWASH-A-THON
We've got a lot of fun summer activities planned for our youth (middle & high school) this summer (including camp at Hume Lake). Help support our students this summer by sponsoring our Carwash-a-thon. Offer to support a teen with a pledge per car washed. Then bring your car for a free wash on Saturday, July 30.  MEN'S GOLF TOURNAMENT
Fore! The ERBC Men's Golf Tournament is coming Saturday August 13, 7:30AM-1PM at Scholl Canyon Golf Course. This is a best-ball tournament with a shotgun start.  MARRIAGE 101
Marriage 101 is an 8 week DVD-based course designed to provide pre-marital counseling for engaged couples, as well as marriage enrichment for those already married. Topics include everything from conflict resolution to financial planning. The class will meet on Sunday evenings, from 6-7PM. The cost is $30 ($40 if you need childcare).  FESTIVAL ON THE GREEN
