"I believe in God, but..."
Twelve hundred people were surveyed and asked the question "What do you think of when you hear the word Evangelism?" Typical first-impression answers included things like "Knocking on a stranger's door and giving them a pamphlet" or "A televangelist asking for money to build a theme park" or "A Hell-Fire and brimstone preacher telling me that I need to turn-or-burn."
Those stereotypes are understandable but they also beg the question, "When did the Good News become Bad?"
Our word 'evangelism' comes from the Greek word which means "to proclaim or share the good news." Yet a lot of people don't have good memories associated with their attempts to share the good news.
This weekend we're concluding our Christian Atheist series as Pastor Jordan leads us in looking at "I believe in God, but I don't talk about it."
I hope you can join us Saturday evening at 5:30 or Sunday morning at 9AM or 11AM.
Embracing the journey,
Pastor Rick
