Christian Atheist?
There's a new term I've come across in the past few weeks. It's 'Christian Atheist.' It's a term that has been coined by an author in a book that bears the same name: The Christian Atheist by Craig Groeschel.
You might wonder, as I did, what in the world could Groeschel mean by the term? Simply stated, a Christian Atheist is a person who says: "I believe in God" and yet lives their life as if God was not real, or at least wasn't aware of what she or he was doing. This could be in all aspects of life from the way we pray, to our inability to forgive, to or our unwillingness to talk to people about our faith or the belief that we're in charge of our lives, our wealth, our sexuality, and everything else.
This weekend as we gather to celebrate the Lord's Supper we'll be looking at "I believe in God, but I still carry a grudge."
I hope you can join us Saturday evening at 5:30PM or Sunday morning at 9AM or 11AM.
Embracing the journey, Pastor Rick
