What's Your Love Language?

scrabble i love youSince its release in 1992, The Five Languages of Love

has sold more than five million copies. The thesis of the book is that all of us feel and communicate love in different ways. The author, Dr. Gary Chapman has observed that these expressions of love can be organized into five categories which are: quality time, words of affirmation, gift giving, serving and physical touch. The way in which a person shows love to someone is, likely, how he or she would like to be shown that they are loved. This is called their "love language". If the person you love does not speak the same language as you, then it's possible that one of you isn't feeling loved. Many people don't realize that God has a love language and His love language is obedience.  Jesus said it this way:

"If you love me, obey my commandments"  John 14:15

If the challenge of obedience seems a little overwhelming, or if there are some areas in your life that are not being characterized by obedience to God, Jesus would say to you, "Obedience isn't your issue, love is your issue, because if you love Me, then you will obey my commandments."

I hope you can join us this weekend as we examine
"The Challenge of Obedience."  I look forward to seeing you
Saturday at 5:30PM or Sunday at 9AM or 11AM.

Embracing the journey,
Pastor Rick
