It is the official opening of play season on the Kitsap Peninsula and there are an abundance of farmer's markets, fairs and festivals. Bremerton's 63rd Armed Forces Day Celebration & Parade, largest parade of its kind in the USA, and the ever popular Poulsbo Viking Fest get things hopping. A week later, its the 3-day, event packed Kitsap Harbor Festival that fill up the marinas and waterfront districts in Port Orchard and Bremerton. Both Saturday & Sunday the Bremerton|Port Orchard foot ferry will operate every thirty minutes from 8:30 AM (departs Port Orchard) until 7:45 PM (departs Bremerton).
