BMS Calendar

Summer Hours

A reminder, we will be modifying the district's hours of operation during the summer months to conserve energy.  The district will be open Monday - Thursday with extended hours and will be closed Friday - Sunday.  Summer hours will begin on Monday, June 25.  The district will resume regular school year hours on Monday, August 27.

School News

Subscription Busing 2012-2013:

Remember that June 20, 2012 is the deadline to return your child's registration form and payment for subscription busing for the 2012-2013 school year.  If you received a letter regarding your child's eligibility to participate in subscription busing and you wish to take advantage of this opportunity, you must respond with full payment by the deadline above. Information is available at the district website, www.shsd.org.  Click on department, then transportation to download the letter and registration form. Registrations postmarked after the deadline will only be accepted if seats are available on an existing bus, and seats will not be guaranteed for the beginning of the school year.  Questions may be directed to Transportation Coordinator Ginny Harknett at gharknett@shsd.org, or 908-630-3015.

 

The Board of Education is required to provide transportation services to K-8 pupils living more than two miles from school and 9-12 students living more than two and one-half miles from school.  In the event a parent/guardian of a pupil eligible for transportation services wishes to waive transportation services for that school year, a transportation services waiver form should be completed and submitted.  If circumstances change during the school year due to a family or economic hardship, transportation services can be reinstated.  Please visit the transportation department on the district website for the waiver form.

FALL SPORTS OFFERED:
Field Hockey - 7 & 8 grades
Girls Soccer - 6, 7 & 8 grades
Boys Soccer - 6, 7 & 8 grades
Co-Ed Cross Country - 6, 7 & 8 grades
Scroll down to the bottom of the BMS Sports page to print all forms required.  All forms are due July 23, 2012 and must be submitted on time in order to try out for Fall Sports.

CALLING ALL HOCKEY FANS!!!
Do you play hockey or are you interested in Ice Hockey?  Come join the Bernardsville Middle School Hockey Team and play with your friends!  Our season runs from October to March, but sign ups start now. HSA News 
 
The BHS HSA is hosting a Welcome Coffee for our new freshman parents on Wednesday, September 5th at 8:30 AM during the Freshman Orientation.  Click here for more information.

 
2nd Annual Autumn Harvest Fundraiser
The BMS and Bedwell HSA are pleased to announce the 2nd annual Autumn Harvest Fundraiser at Somerset Hills Country Club on Friday, October 12, 2012.  Last year's event was a huge success and raised over $25,000 thanks to your donations.  We hope you will join us again this year!  Save the date!
We also need your help!  At this time we are asking for your assistance in donating items, services or your talents towards this year's live auction.
