Greetings from Bedwell, 

 

Mr. Wilkinson and Mrs. Paterno planned and executed a fabulous Field Day!  Character Ed greeted our students as they arrived waving an Olympic flag and setting the tone for the day.   Field Day offered a wonderful opportunity for our students to apply the tenets of good character that they have learned on the field.  Our students had fun and displayed good character.  I would call that a win-win event.  Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make the day possible!

2012-2013 Kindergarten Registration is ongoing.  Please register your incoming kindergartener as soon as possible.

 

News from the Health Office regarding the retrieval of medications. 

  

 

New Project Lost and Found:   Is your child missing a jacket, lunchbox or sweatshirt? The Bedwell Lost and Found is overflowing! Next Friday, all items still remaining in the Lost and Found area will be boxed and donated to a local charity.  Please stop by and check out our selection of unidentified objects!

  

New Subscription Busing 2012-2013 Remember that June 20, 2012 is the deadline to return your child's registration form and payment for subscription busing for the 2012-2013 school year. If you received a letter regarding your child's eligibility to participate in subscription busing and you wish to take advantage of this opportunity, you must respond with full payment by the deadline above. Information is available at the district website, www.shsd.org. Click on department, then transportation to download the letter and registration form. Registrations postmarked after the deadline will only be accepted if seats are available on an existing bus, and seats will not be guaranteed for the beginning of the school year. Questions may be directed to Transportation Coordinator Ginny Harknett at gharknett@shsd.org, or 908-630-3015.

 

Note from the Transportation Director: Beginning Monday, May 7, traffic on Old Fort Road will be reduced to one lane as contractors begin construction for sidewalk installation.  Most school buses that use Old Fort Road will be detoured. 

Many children from all three schools use that road to walk to and from home.  With the addition of construction equipment and vehicles, it will be even more congested.  Please use extreme caution if you choose to drive on Old Fort Road.  Detouring around that road would be preferable.  Please remind your children who walk on that road to be extra cautious during this phase of construction.
