Hello, 

Today our eighth graders will attend orientation at BHS - these students should report directly to the high school from their homes or buses this morning.  Teachers will meet our eighth graders at the high school for their return trip to BMS.

Parents of fifth graders, please read the new letter below regarding required immunizations for students entering sixth grade.  

The band concert last evening was a success and enjoyed by all.  Congratulations to our talented musicians!

School News

On June 1, 2012, 8th grade students will be attending an orientation program at BHS.  Students will be introduced to members of the high school staff and administration while becoming familiar with various aspects of high school life.  Click here for more information.  It is our hope that this program will assist students with the transition process and help them to begin their high school experience with confidence and enthusiasm.  Please note that 8th graders go directly from their homes/buses to BHS that morning. Eighth grade teachers will meet our eighth grade students at the high school for their return trip to BMS at 9:45 AM.
 
Parents of current 8th grade students are cordially invited to attend 8th Grade Parents Night on June 6, 2012 from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM in the PAC at Bernards High School.  Click here for a letter from Ms. Cooley, BHS principal. The presentation will highlight the positive atmosphere, varied extracurricular offerings and expected protocols of the high school.  The high school administration will share their philosophy, which will enable new high school students to transition well into the high school and to achieve success once they are here.  Parents will also be treated to a tour of the facility following the presentation.
 
ATTENTION 5th, 6th and 7th graders: If you are interested in running for a Student Council Officer position, you must pick up a petition from Ms. Both by Tuesday, June 5th.  Petitions need to be signed and returned to Ms. Both on Wednesday, June 6th.  Current 5th graders can run for Assistant Treasurer. Current 6th graders can run for 2nd Vice President or Assistant Treasurer.  Current 7th graders can run for President, Treasurer or Secretary.  Please review and download the attached election petition and campaign rules.   If you have any questions please see Ms. Both in Room 154.

ATTENTION PARENTS OF FIFTH GRADERS.  To ensure that your child will be able to attend the 5th grade pool party on June 15, 2012 please make sure that you submit the required information regarding state required immunizations to Mrs. Ryan in the BMS Health Office by June 1st.    Click here for new letter regarding the immunizations that your child needs in order to attend 6th grade.

HSA News 
   
The LAST Box Tops for Education collection for this school year will be Friday, June 1.  Please clip and send all your box tops through your student's Social Studies classroom.  The classroom with the highest total number collected since February will win an ice cream party before the end of the school year!
 
 
2nd Annual Autumn Harvest Fundraiser
The BMS and Bedwell HSA are pleased to announce the 2nd annual Autumn Harvest Fundraiser at Somerset Hills Country Club on Friday, October 12, 2012.  Last year's event was a huge success and raised over $25,000 thanks to your donations.  We hope you will join us again this year!  Save the date!
We also need your help!  At this time we are asking for your assistance in donating items, services or your talents towards this year's live auction.
