We are very please to announce that Mr. Shawn Kelly, 7th and 8th grade Social Studies teacher, has been appointed to the position of assistant principal at the Bernardsville Middle School.  Mr. Kelly has been a well respected member of the BMS faculty for the past seven years, as well a coach at both the middle and high school levels.  He will begin his new assignment on July 1, 2012.  We are delighted to have Mr. Kelly join our administrative team

Atelier Salon in Basking Ridge is hosting a cut-a-thon on Sunday, April 29th with 100% of all proceeds being donated to Bedwell student Campbell Hoyt's medical trust. 10:00-4:00pm (all of the operators are donating their time and skills!). BIKE RIDE FOR CAMPBELL

Bedwell Physical Education teacher, Phil Wilkinson, is riding his bike in support of Heartworks and needs your support and donations. Registration begins both in person (166 Mine Brook Road), and on line Saturday, April 14, 8:00 a.m.

Besides our six week summer camp, spend your summer getting back to nature, or explore the mysteries of the solar system.  If you want to rock out this summer, we have everything from guitar, voice, instrumental and music technology!  If you're the creative type, you can try digital arts and crafts, comic book creation, theatre, creating 3D worlds, mosaics and art.  If activity is your thing, there is lacrosse, basketball, fly fishing, baseball, tennis, soccer, fun and fitness and pony camp.

VACCINES FOR CHILDREN PROGRAM
For all children birth to 18 years who are not covered by health insurance to receive appropriate vaccinations in a timely manner at no cost. The goal is to eliminate vaccine-preventable disease in children. This federally funded, state operated vaccine supply program provides pediatric vaccines at no cost to doctors and health care providers who serve children who might not otherwise be vaccinated due to the inability to pay. HEALTH SCREENINGS

ANNUAL HEALTH SCREENING will be held on May 3rd and May 4th - 7 am-9 am at St. James Church - 184 S. Finley Ave. in Basking Ridge. See flyer in English and Spanish for details.

 

MALE CANCER SCREENING will be held on June 6th from 5 pm-7 pm in the Wellness Center at Fellowship Village located at 8000 fellowship Road in Basking Ridge  See flyer for details.

 

The cost for each screening is $30 for residents and $40 for non-residents. In addition, an optional Thyroid Screening is available at the Health Screening for an additional charge.

 

IN-PERSON REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED and begins Monday, April 16, 2012 between 8:30 am - 4:00 pm at the Bernards Township Health Department located at 262 S. Finley Ave., in Basking Ridge.

 

The Male Cancer Screening Clinic includes a PSA Test (Prostate Specific Antigen), an exam by a board-certified urologist, a blood pressure check and cancer prevention information.  This clinic is for men who have not been screened in two or more years, are NOT under the care of a urologist, who are over 40 with a family history of prostate cancer, or are between 50 and 70 years old. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED by visiting the BT Health Department or phoning 908-204-2520.

           

                  

TURF FIELD/TRACK USAGE  The turf field and track are not to be used for organized public events without written permission from the Somerset Hills Board of Education through a Use of Facilities Form*. The facility is available for individual exercise activities. (*Form may be obtained at the Board of Education Office at 25 Olcott Ave.)
