Dear BHS Parents,
I wanted to take this moment to inform you that I have recently been appointed to be the principal of Hunterdon Central Regional High School. As many of you know, prior to coming to BHS, I spent ten years at HCRHS as a vice principal. The opportunity to become principal presented itself in February and I decided to pursue the position. Last evening, my appointment was approved by their board of education.
Please know that, for me, this decision was never about leaving Bernards High School or The Somerset Hills School District. I have found my experience here to be most rewarding and everyone to be most welcoming and supportive. This was about having the opportunity to return to a district that holds a very dear place in my heart....to be the principal of my alma mater....an opportunity that would likely not present itself again in my career.
I will be continuing in my role as BHS Principal through the end of June and plan to do all that I can to make the transition as easy as possible for our students. I will be speaking to our students tomorrow morning and, as always, welcome any conversations that will be helpful to them in understanding this change. It is my hope that the remainder of the school year will be as productive and positive as the first half has been.
Educationally yours,
Suzanne Cooley
